Project Overview
A logistics warehouse was looking for a complete lighting upgrade to improve visibility, reduce dark areas, and create a safer working environment for daily warehouse operations. Before the upgrade, the warehouse relied on outdated high bay fixtures that produced uneven illumination, leaving several aisles and loading areas with insufficient brightness.
To solve these issues, the facility selected JCE Lighting UFO12 LED High Bay Lights as the main lighting solution. The UFO12 fixtures were chosen for their high lumen output, wide light distribution, energy-efficient performance, and suitability for high-ceiling warehouse applications.

The Challenge
The warehouse had several lighting challenges before the upgrade. The old fixtures created uneven light distribution, with some areas appearing bright while others remained dim. This made it difficult for workers to identify products, operate forklifts safely, and complete picking and packing tasks efficiently.
The main challenges included:
- Inconsistent brightness across the warehouse floor
- Dark spots between storage aisles
- Poor visibility in loading and packing areas
- Higher energy consumption from outdated fixtures
- Increased maintenance due to aging lighting equipment
Because the warehouse operated for long hours each day, the customer needed a lighting system that could provide stable performance, reduce maintenance requirements, and improve the overall working environment.
Lighting Solution
After reviewing the warehouse dimensions, ceiling height, and required illumination level, the lighting plan used 36 pcs UFO12 LED High Bay Lights installed at a 30 ft mounting height.
The UFO12 fixtures were selected because they are designed for high-ceiling commercial and industrial spaces. Their high lumen output helps provide strong vertical and horizontal visibility, while the wide light distribution supports more even illumination across open warehouse areas.
The layout was designed to improve brightness in key working zones, including:
- Main storage areas
- Picking aisles
- Packing stations
- Forklift traffic routes
- Loading and unloading zones
A photometric simulation was used before installation to confirm fixture spacing, illumination levels, and overall uniformity. The goal was to achieve a balanced lighting environment without over-lighting the space or creating excessive glare.
Installation Process
The installation was completed in stages to reduce disruption to daily warehouse operations.
First, the old high bay fixtures were removed from the ceiling structure. The electrical team then inspected the mounting points and wiring conditions to ensure the new LED system could be safely installed.
Next, the UFO12 LED High Bay Lights were mounted according to the approved lighting layout. The fixtures were positioned to provide even coverage across the warehouse floor and reduce shadowed areas around aisles and workstations.
After installation, the lighting system was tested to confirm brightness, uniformity, and proper fixture operation. The final result showed a significant improvement in visibility compared with the previous lighting system.
Final Results
After the UFO12 LED High Bay Lights were installed, the warehouse became noticeably brighter and more comfortable for daily work. The new lighting system helped eliminate many of the dark spots that previously affected storage and picking areas.
Key Improvements
| Result Area | Improvement |
|---|---|
| Visibility | Brighter and clearer warehouse floor |
| Safety | Better visibility for workers and forklift operators |
| Productivity | Easier picking, packing, and inventory handling |
| Light Uniformity | Reduced shadows and dark spots |
| Energy Efficiency | Lower power consumption compared with old fixtures |
| Maintenance | Longer fixture lifespan and reduced replacement frequency |
The final lighting performance reached an average of 43.8 footcandles, with a maximum of 58.6 fc and a minimum of 24.7 fc, providing a balanced illumination level suitable for warehouse storage, handling, and general logistics operations.
Customer Feedback
“The new UFO12 LED high bay lighting made a clear difference in our warehouse. The space is much brighter, and our team can move through the aisles and work areas with better visibility. The lighting is more even than before, and the warehouse feels safer and more efficient for daily operations.”
