Project Overview
A modern commercial office was looking for a complete lighting upgrade to create a brighter, cleaner, and more comfortable workplace. Before the renovation, the office relied on outdated ceiling fixtures that produced uneven illumination across workstations, meeting rooms, corridors, and collaboration areas.
The customer wanted the new lighting system to support an open-office environment, improve visual comfort for daily computer work, and create a more professional atmosphere for both employees and visitors.
To achieve these goals, the project used a combination of JCE Lighting LED Panels and JCE Lighting Linear Strip Lights. LED Panels were installed in open work areas and meeting rooms for broad, uniform illumination, while Linear Strip Lights were used in corridors, collaboration zones, and key architectural areas to create a clean and modern visual effect.

The Challenge
Before the upgrade, the office lighting did not fully support the customer’s daily operations. Several workstations appeared dim, while some areas near windows and glass partitions had inconsistent brightness. Meeting rooms and corridors also lacked a unified lighting design, which made the space feel less modern and less inviting.
The main challenges included:
- Uneven illumination across open work areas
- Dim lighting in meeting rooms and collaboration zones
- Poor lighting consistency between corridors and office areas
- Outdated fixtures that affected the overall office appearance
- Need for a brighter, cleaner, and more professional commercial environment
- Requirement for comfortable lighting suitable for computer-based office work
The customer needed a lighting solution that could improve visibility while also matching the clean design of a modern commercial office.
Lighting Design Solution
After reviewing the office layout, ceiling height, and lighting requirements, JCE Lighting recommended a mixed lighting solution using LED Panels and Linear Strip Lights.
The LED Panels were selected for the main open work areas and meeting rooms. Their wide, even light distribution helps reduce harsh contrast and supports comfortable visibility across desks, conference tables, and shared workspaces.
The Linear Strip Lights were used in corridors, collaboration zones, and selected architectural areas. These fixtures helped create a clean, continuous lighting effect, making the office feel more modern and visually connected.
The lighting layout was designed to deliver:
- Uniform illumination across workstations
- Brighter meeting and conference areas
- Clean architectural lines in corridors and shared spaces
- Better visual comfort for employees
- A modern office atmosphere for visitors and staff
- Improved energy efficiency compared with older lighting systems
A photometric layout was created before installation to confirm fixture placement, spacing, and illumination performance.
Photometric Layout

The photometric simulation showed that the new lighting system could provide balanced illumination across the office floor plan, including open work areas, meeting rooms, corridors, the pantry area, and the collaboration zone.
Photometric Layout Parameters
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Layout Type | Commercial Office Photometric Layout |
| Commercial Office Dimensions | 120 ft × 80 ft |
| Commercial Office Ceiling Height | 10 ft |
| Fixture Type | JCE Lighting LED Panels + Linear Strip Lights |
| Fixture Count | 42 pcs |
| Average Illuminance | 38.6 fc |
| Maximum Illuminance | 52.4 fc |
| Minimum Illuminance | 21.8 fc |
| Calculation Plane | 2.5 ft AFF |
| Application Target | Open office, meeting rooms, corridors, pantry, collaboration areas |
The simulation result showed an average illumination level of 38.6 footcandles, with a maximum of 52.4 fc and a minimum of 21.8 fc. This provided a practical lighting level for general office work, meetings, circulation, and collaborative activities.
Installation Process
The installation was planned to minimize disruption to daily office operations. The old ceiling fixtures were removed first, and the ceiling grid was prepared for the new LED Panels and Linear Strip Lights.
LED Panels were installed in the main work areas and meeting rooms to provide broad and soft illumination. Linear Strip Lights were then installed along corridor and collaboration areas to strengthen the architectural appearance of the office.
After installation, the lighting system was tested to confirm fixture operation, brightness, and overall uniformity. Final adjustments were made to ensure that workstations, meeting areas, and shared spaces received comfortable and consistent light.
Final Results
After the installation, the commercial office became noticeably brighter, cleaner, and more visually comfortable. The new LED Panels improved the overall brightness of the open work areas, while the Linear Strip Lights added a modern design element that made corridors and collaboration spaces feel more refined.
